Advantec Institute, a division of Computer Learning Centers, Inc., was established in 1993 to provide the best possible advanced information technology training to business and industry. Currently, Advantec provides hands-on training to over 500 computer professionals annually in several curricula including computer programming, networking, and internet development. Courses are developed based on input from students, instructors, and an advisory board consisting of area businesspersons in tune with the needs of contemporary business. Detailed lectures as well as hands-on lab exercises performed in state-of-the-art computer labs provide students with the practical experience necessary to advance within their fields. Furthermore, these courses are delivered by instructors whose qualifications require that both educational and professional experiences have led them to experts in their fields. Each of these components works together to provide students with the technical skills necessary to succeed in today's competitive information systems industry. Advantec Institute offers classes at three locations in the Washington, DC area: Alexandria, Virginia; Vienna, Virginia; and Laurel, Maryland. There are plans to expand to other geographical areas in which Computer Learning Centers are located.
