Description

Objective:

The course objective is to prepare students for completion of Transformers, Level III. Students are introduced to proper installation procedures as well as the foundation principles of three-phase systems and how to identify and connect three-phase transformers. Students use hands-on labs to reinforce information presented on three-phase buck-boost transformers.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Compare voltage surge with transient voltage and explain overvoltage installation categories.
  • Apply safety codes and standards to your electrical installation and recognize electrical work hazards. You will also understand what “Qualified Persons” signifies, and identify common safety label signal words.
  • Define electric shock, understand the process of grounding, and describe the purpose and function of a Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter (GFCI).
