Description

Objective:

To explore the Federal stewardship of natural resource use and its importance to the continued growth of the United States.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Articulate current natural resources policy initiatives and Administration priorities
  • Understand public perceptions of the risks and benefits of alternative strategies for natural resources use
  • Understand the role of scientific knowledge and advancement technologies such as Geographical Information Systems
  • Understand the history of changes in natural resources use
  • Examine issues of abundance and scarcity and the management of Federal government land responsibility
  • Examine the balance of multiple policy goals in the natural resources area, including economic environmental goals
