The course objective is to explore a variety of concepts and theories to understand the similarities, differences, connections, and disconnections experienced by world communities. This class will include an introduction to the basic concepts, goals, and research strategies of anthropology, the nature of culture, its role in human experience, and its universality. This course encourages students to explore the complex interaction between individuals, social groups, social structures, history, and culture; and to apply theoretical principles of social analysis to critically interpret society.
