Description

Objective:

The course objective is to obtain the knowledge and skills necessary to perform the duties of a Rollform Technician II.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Correctly and accurately align the shafts of the entire rolling mill face using a state of the art laser system
  • Demonstrate the use of roll tooling build and design processes
  • Explain some basic metal properties
  • Shim roll tooling to adjust a cross section
  • Align the weld bridge to ensure a true plane working surface
  • Demonstrate the ability to develop the blank width of steel depending on the tooling cross section
  • Read blue prints and varied line types used with information contained in the title block as well as the different drawing views and drawing types
  • Utilize the essentials of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing and apply them to rollforming and prints
