In the 700 series, the sixth year of the program, the apprentice continues mastering the outside lineman occupation. Advanced level skills are highlighted as well as significant field work. The apprentice is working on the job full time during this series as well as taking course work available electronically.

Learning Outcomes:

  • use a S@C load break tool
  • rigging procedures
  • trouble shoot transformer
  • check for open neutral
  • install conductor ties
  • replace lightening arrester
  • change out cut-out on energized lines
  • frame/lay out conductors for re-conductor
  • splice energized 336 mcm conductor
  • replace dead-end conductors
  • cut in double dead-end in existing primary
  • change out post insulator (narrow construction)
  • Change out wood cross arm with 3 phase primary
