Description

Objective:

The course objective is to discuss human relations/performance subjects addressed in each lesson objective, as well as participate in educational activities associated with EEO Officer duties. Each student must also meet all assessment criteria identified in this course

Learning Outcomes:

  • Know the leadership/supervisory role associated with Special Hiring Authorities and Processes appropriate within the scope of EEO officer/director responsibilities.
  • Know the roles and responsibilities of the EEO Officer.
  • Know the issues surrounding employee development and relations.
  • Know the leadership/supervisory skills appropriate within the scope of officer/director responsibilities.
  • Comprehend how culture impacts human-relations issues.
  • Comprehend the EEO complaint process phase for agencies rendering final agency decisions or actions.
  • Demonstrate ability to draft effective EEO Final Actions.
  • Comprehend basic concepts of diversity as it relates to norms, values, and strategies that managers can employ to improve diversity initiatives and the organization’s climate.
  • Know the skills needed to meet common legal and regulatory basis for affirmative employment programs (MD-715).
  • Demonstrate the steps involved and the inputs into drafting an effective MD 715 business plan.
  • Comprehend senior-level EEO official perspectives on agency employment.
  •  Research, analyze and report findings associated with an organizational/climate assessment.
