Description

Objective:

The course objective is to enable students to demonstrate comprehension of the risk management process for DoD Security Programs and apply physical security concepts in physical security planning.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Recognize the types of physical security measures
  • Review the concept of security-in-depth
  • Define the purpose of a physical security plan
  • Explain the components of a physical security plan
  • Demonstrate comprehension of the risk management process for DoD Security Programs
  • Justify physical security measures through analysis
  • Write a statement of work, statement of requirements, statement of objectives (SOW, SOR, SOO) for security equipment, products and or services
  • Identify the relevant stakeholders needed to create an effective physical security plan
  • Define roles and responsibilities of relevant stakeholders
  • Use the risk management process to identify and analyze assets, threats, vulnerabilities, and risks, and determine and implement countermeasures
  • Apply the steps of the risk management process in physical security planning
  • Select appropriate physical security measures to protect assets
  • Track status of deficiencies when updating physical security plans based on changing variables
  • Formulate recommendations to the physical security plan based on changing variables
