ACE Leadership Academy to Help Department Chairs Advance the Academic and Institutional Mission

​Register now for the July 17 ACE Leadership Academy for Department Chairs in Alexandria, VA. Department chairs, division heads, program directors, and unit leaders will gather for this two-day workshop that focuses on the chair as a unit leader and as an academic leader in service to the institution and its mission. 

Early bird registration ends May 18. Limited partial scholarships are also available until May 13.

The workshop will consist of case studies, problem-solving and role-play exercises, table-top discussions, and simulations on key leadership issues, achieving department success, and contributing to the larger mission of the institution.

Participants will engage in large and small group discussions about key leadership issues amid the changing landscape of higher education and leave the workshop with practical solutions for common challenges, including:

  • ​What does a department chair do? 
  • Budgeting and financial management
  • Department chair leadership in an institutional governance structure
  • Conflict management
  • Diversity and leadership
  • Innovation of the future
​Team discounts are available for multiple registrations from the same institution. After the first participant registers at full price, each additional registrant from the same institution qualifies for a $50 discount.
