Description

Objective:

The course objective is to prepare students for completion of Structured Cabling, Level I. The course immediately introduces students to premises cabling, the related safety codes, and the Telecommunication Industry Association and Electronic Industries Alliance Standards and Codes. The course further explains the need for structured cabling systems through exploring the system overview. Subsequently, students begins to study in more detail the unshielded twisted pair cables, connecting hardware, pathways, and spaces. After learning about telecommunications cabling administration and grounding and bonding, students will begin configuring structured cabling systems and their applications.

  • Understand telecommunication pathways and spaces, cabling administration, and grounding and bonding
  • Demonstrate how to terminate multi-pair cables on 110-type terminal blocks
