Description

Objective:

The course objective is to prepare students for completion of the Paging Systems, Level I. This is an advanced course offered through the NJATC. Paging systems, background music, and PA systems are evident almost everywhere. This course is intended to provide a basic understanding of these systems, their fundamental components, and how these systems work, and then it explores some of the specific applications of the systems. Other topics discussed are designing and layouts, and sound masking systems. At the end of this course, the student will apply the information learned to a practical design.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Provide a basic understanding of paging systems, background music, and PA systems
  • Identify the components associated with distributed sound systems/paging systems and their functions
  • Determine an efficient power transfer between the amplifier and the associated speakers
  • Demonstrate how to design and layout a paging system
  • List the differences between a constant voltage system and a self-amplified system
