Description

Objective:

The course objective is to prepare students for completion of the RF Communications, Level I. This is an advanced course offered through the NJATC that will provide a solid foundation in RF communications. It begins by examining the system components in a SLC 500 modular PLC system and the AB SLC 500 family PLCs. The course shows how waveforms are shaped by combinations of different signal frequencies, or harmonics. Students will explore the concepts of wireless transmission, as well as, transmission imperfections and transmission lines.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Explore the fundamental concepts and principles of how communication equipment works
  • Explore the concepts of wireless transmission
  • Design, maintain, and service the various communication systems
