Description

Objective:

The course objective is to prepare students for completion of Lighting Essentials Level II. Lighting Essentials, Level II delves deeper into the basic design element for the most common occupancies. This helps the student understand how to fulfill the lighting requirement of the customer in a design/build situation. It also allows the student to carry on an intelligent conversation with the customers architect or lighting designer.

Learning Outcomes:

  • identify the lamps and/or luminaires that will be required to provide illumination for a residential space's critical visual task(s)
  • identify the critical visual tasks of various commercial spaces
  • list the general information required to start the design process
  • identify the components that make up an HID ballast circuit
  • understand the business model metrics for selling and maintaining LED lighting systems.
