Description

Objective:

The course objective is to prepare students for completion of the First Year Substation Bundle. This is a three-year program of study with field experience for Journeyman status in the electrical construction industry.

Learning Outcomes:

apply mathematically skills to basic electrical
understand the Substation apprenticeship, learner responsibilities and conduct, and knowledge of the IBEW and NECA
understand the fundamentals of electricity and DC Circuits, knowledge of Ohm's Law and how it relates to voltage, current, resistance, and power
understand OSHA rules and regulations related to safety on the job
understand the tools and materials required for use in rigging and how to use hand signals
understand how to build a Substation, cable types, installation in a vault and/or manhole.
