Description

Objective:

The course objective is to enable the student to develop their own leadership style, focus their values and beliefs, develop targeted communication and interpersonal skills, and enhance decision-making and problem solving skills. Students will explore proven leadership theories and their practical applications.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Differentiate between management and leadership
  • Develop a strategy for setting goals and become familiar with the concepts of management by objectives (MBO) and be able to evaluate case studies
  • Explore a various motivational theories and evaluate their effectiveness
  • Explore leadership through service and community awareness
  • Identify six leadership styles and evaluate circumstances for when to apply each
  • Discuss and implement important steps in decision-making
