Description

Objective:

The course objective is to teach students about the different aspects of the quality assurance program as it applies to products and equipment. The course also instructs students on how to develop and organize a risk management plan for the logistics organization; measuring risk, determining the effects, mitigating outcomes and managing the overall risk to avoid and/or minimize damage and loss. Students will learn how to identify potential problems and the necessary steps in the removal or segregation of products and equipment to mitigate risk in the stockroom and clinical areas. Students are introduced to the importance of communications with the risk manager, medical director and quality assurance coordinator to ensure a high level of safety for all stakeholders in the environment of care.
