Description

Objective:

The course objective is to provide a unique opportunity to learn methods used to implement a master plans from programming to project siting and implementation of form base planning. This class will include training in process of preparing an Area Development Plan Execution Plan and using relevant planning tools to conduct planning studies, requirements analyses, stationing impacts, etc. Through application and instruction, students will gain further understanding in the use of these tools and linkage to project programming. The students will also gain knowledge in the detailed process of siting projects in accordance with the master plan. This includes use of form-based coding, and site development, as well as how these siting criteria are reflected in programming documentation.

  • Implement the basic facts of street and parking design
  • Recognize the elements of a form-based code and create a small campus Area Development Plan
  • Identify the basics process and elements of plan-based programming
  • Recognize the reasoning behind master planning, and the process and products of master planning in the Department of Defense (DoD)
  • Identify the elements and justifications for component plans
