Description

Objective:

The course objective is to enable students to analyze the effectiveness of various safety and occupational health programs using appropriate quantitative methods and tools. Students must then be able to communicate that analysis and findings using appropriate charts, tables or other displays.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Evaluate the performance of a safety and occupational health program using various quantitative methods
  • Calculate the Department of Defense (DoD) safety and occupational health program assessment requirements
  • Perform statistical analysis on various safety and occupational health metrics in order to identify patterns of change in loss frequency or severity of injury
  • Present safety and occupational health data using a variety of formats of tables, graphs, and charts
  • Demonstrate the effectiveness of various safety and occupational health programs using the most appropriate performance measure
  • Explain the various sources of safety and occupational health injury and illness data
  • Identify the components of a comprehensive safety and occupational health metrics program
