Description

Objective:

The course objective is to educate anyone who processes and photographs crime scenes or will in the future. Upon completion of the course, participants will be able to employ advanced photography techniques when processing crime scenes.

Learning Outcomes:

  • discuss the selection and general use of equipment necessary in crime scene photography
  • photograph evidence close up and in extreme detail
  • photograph a crime scene in low-light conditions
  • demonstrate the ability to operate his/her camera manually in low-light situations
  • utilize flash photography effectively
  • apply multiple layers light to create well-balanced nighttime photographs
  • explain how to properly document the scene of a shooting so that it can be reconstructed using the photographic images
  • document a bloodstained crime scene so that it can be reconstructed using the photographic images
  • photograph evidence using ultraviolet light
  • photograph evidence using ultraviolet light
  • add artistic flair to photographic images to create greater impact
