Objective:

Upon successful completion of this course, participants will be able to apply proven methods for wastewater treatment.

Participants will be able to explain the importance of protecting water resources in the State of Texas.
Participants will be able to describe the role of the wastewater treatment plant operator in pollution control.
Participants will be able to discuss appropriate wastewater treatment based on bacterial, physical, and chemical characteristics.
Participants will be able to discuss the proper treatment of wastewater based on its source.
Participants will be able to discuss the complexity of a wastewater collection system.
Participants will be able to discuss the essentials of preliminary treatment and flow measurement.
Participants will be able to recognize the importance of sedimentation and the factors that affect it.
Participants will be able to discuss the fundamentals of the activated sludge process.
Participants will be able to recognize the purpose of fixed-film biological processes.
Participants will be able to discuss appropriate methods of pond stabilization.
