Description

Objective:

The course objective is to familiarize students with a comprehensive overview of the scope and limitations of business statistics.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Understand linear regression, multiple regression, correlation analysis, model building and diagnosis, and time series regression using various models
  • Perform statistical analyses of samples, compute the measures of locations and dispersion, and interpret these measures for descriptive statistics
  • Apply discrete and continuous distributions of probability
  • Construct a hypothesis on one sample and two samples, performing one-way and two-way analyses of variance, as well as to apply nonparametric methods of statistical analysis

General Topics:

  • Basic statistics concepts
  • Sampling methods
  • Descriptive statistics - numerical measures
  • Descriptive statistics - representational, probability, discrete, and continuous probability distributions
  • Using confidence intervals in the sampling process
  • Tests of hypotheses
  • Regression analysis
