Description

Objective:

Upon the completion of this course, the student will be able to learn the principles of safety, AC fundamentals, personal protective equipment/grounding method, live-line equipment and methods, rigging, underground and overhead conductors, electrical test equipment, introduction to substations and OSHA

  • Understand and explain AC Fundamentals; how to electrical energy is created, manipulated and transformed throughout the electrical systems
  • Use personnel protective equipment and proper grounding methods
  • Apply procedures and requirement for live-line equipment and methods
  • Select rope and prepare rigging
  • Install a radial underground system
  • Identify the most common overhead conductors
  • Use electrical test equipment
  • Understand a substation's key components, their function, and purpose, etc.
  • Conform to OSHA regulations
