Description

Objective:

The course objective is to help prepare learners for the CompTIA Network+ exam (N10-007).

Learning Outcomes:

  • Describe the OSI layers and identify where devices, services, and protocols reside
  • Define the major protocols and their associated port numbers
  • Describe the fundamental elements in network communication, including routing and switching concepts as well as IP addressing components
  • Explain wired and wireless topologies, network types, technologies that facilitate the Internet of Things (IoT)
  • Configure channel bandwidth, channel bonding, wireless standards such as a, b, g, n, and ac
  • Implement best practices to ensure optimal network performance and security including password policies, data loss prevention techniques, NDAs, and safety procedures and policies

  • Describe common event management processes such as notifications, alerts, and SIEM. Utilize remote access methods, such as VPNs, RDP, SSH, VNC, and telnet
  • Implement security policies involving physical security devices, wireless security, and authentication and access controls
