Description

Objective:

The course objective is to teach students the responsibilities of crewmen for loading, discharging, and transporting cargo on oil tankers. The course also provides the knowledge and practical training for students with immediate responsibilities for the handling of dangerous liquids cargoes in oil tanker safety, fire safety systems, pollution prevention, operational practices, and laws and regulations as identified in the STCW code.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Demonstrate knowledge of tanker familiarization, oil tanker, and chemical tanker training requirements
  • Demonstrate knowledge of two discharges and two loadings
  • Demonstrate knowledge of one commencement of loading and one completion of loading
  • Demonstrate knowledge of one commencement of discharge and one completion of discharge
