Description

Objective:

The course objective is to provide engine department personnel with the theoretical and practical knowledge and skills necessary to operate, maintain, and repair the equipment associated with the handling of liquid cargo onboard a tank ship.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Demonstrate the skills necessary to operate, maintain, and repair the equipment associated with the handling of liquid cargo onboard a tanker both in port and while at sea
  • Demonstrate knowledge of transfer of cargo, loading, unloading, intravessel transfer, ballasting, and de-ballasting
