Description

Objective:

The course objective is to provide students with the knowledge and skills to become qualified members of the engine department with the junior engineer and deck engineer endorsements.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Demonstrate the cognitive and practical skills required for a QMED through module performance tests and proctored final examinations in safety, batteries, direct current circuits, alternating current theory, D.C. machines, A.C. machines, motor controller
  • Apply the principles of basic electricity, basic refrigeration and HVAC, basic propulsion systems maintenance, and auxiliary plant maintenance
