Description

Objective:

The course objective is to provide students with a practical understanding of ship handling in various situations, at the management level, based on the IMO model course 7.01.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Apply lecture material to practical simulator exercises designed to meet the assessment standard
  • Apply knowledge from the course to select correct maneuvers in emergency situations, including grounding/refloating, beaching, collisions, and emergency towing arrangements
  • Handle a vessel in shallow or restricted waters

  • Navigate in heavy weather or ice
