Description

Objective:

To understand how to perform business procedures in a medical facility using the microcomputer, including electronic claims, professional fees, credit arrangements, patient billing submission and collection and patient record keeping.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Use the computer to file an insurance claim with major carriers
  • Find information about carrier requirements for filing forms
  • Complete required blocks on the HCFA-1500 form
  • Differentiate between requirements for each carrier
  • Use the computer to input information about a patient onto the claim form
  • Discuss billing as a source of income for the physician and its importance
  • Use Medisoft for data entry of patient information
