Description

Objective:

To review the anatomy and physiology of the urinary tract, adrenal glands, and reticulo-endothelial systems.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Identify the anatomy of the kidneys on diagrams and sonograms
  • Identify the anatomy of the spleen on diagrams and sonograms
  • Discuss the physiology of the spleen
  • Identify and discuss the implications and physiology of congestion of the spleen
  • Compare and contrast focal and diffuse disease of the spleen
  • Locate potential spaces for fluid collections in the abdominal and pelvic retroperitoneum
  • Complete all assigned Professional Qualities and Abdomen competencies
  • Complete all assigned clinical competencies within the given time frame
