Description

Objective:

The course objective is to provide instruction in how to effectively estimate project costs and manage project budgets.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Discuss what cost management is and what it involves
  • Use project selection techniques, demonstrate an understanding of the concepts and techniques for managing project costs including cost estimating, cost budgeting, and cost control
  • Practice application of the techniques

General Topics:

  • The relationship of cost management to the PMBoK Guide, cost management vocabulary, resources required for a project, cost estimating processes and needs, developing cost estimations, project cost budgets, the concepts of cost control and the cost management plan, and calculating and using earned value measurements
