Description

Objective:

The course objective is to increase students' ability to understand and apply practical persuasion research in personal and professional settings. The course describes theory and research that seek to explain why, when, and how persuasive strategies have their effect. Topics of the course explore persuasion across a variety of practical contexts, using examples and activities to illustrate strategies of persuasion in real-world settings.

  • Identify theoretical perspectives emphasizing the source, receiver, and message characteristics that play a role in persuasion
