Description

Objective:

To provide students with the second of a three part series of an abnormal psychology course. To help students understand the makeup of psychological wellbeing and behavioral disorders as well as to examine the complex factors that cause behavioral disorders, looking at biological, psychological, and environmental influences.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Identify disorders such as personality, substance abuse, sexual, and mood disorders
  • Be familiar with professional vocabulary describing psychological disorders
  • Distinguish between functional and dysfunctional disorders
