Description

Objective:

The course objective is to train divers to plan and make dives with technical Sidemount equipment within their present certification and experience limits. The course develops equipment-related motor skills and underlying knowledge for the use of Sidemount in technical diving. Though the course introduces divers to concepts and procedures used in deep decompression, cave and other forms of decompression diving, it does not qualify them to participate in those activities.

Learning Outcomes:

explain the planning, organization, procedures and techniques for participating in dives with technical Sidemount equipment within their present certification and experience limits
explain the various components of a Tec Sidemount equipment rig
explain and demonstrate how to set up and wear a Tec Sidemount rig consisting of two main cylinders and two or more stage/decompression cylinders
explain and demonstrate Tec gas management procedures when wearing a Sidemount rig
explain and demonstrate removing, replacing and handling stage/decompression cylinders when wearing a Sidemount rig
explain how to avoid and handle gas supply emergencies when diving with technical Sidemount equipment
