Description

Objective:

The course objective is to develop the student's understanding of the underwater world and how it interacts with the body, and how that affects the body when freediving; guide students in choosing appropriate equipment for freediving; and develop the knowledge and skills for basic static apnea, dynamic apnea, free immersion and constant weight freediving to a maximum depth of 16 meters/55 feet.

Learning Outcomes:

  • demonstrate the ability to swim continuously on the surface 200 meters/yards without swim aids, or 300 meters/yards using mask, fins and snorkel
  • complete the Freediver Confined Water Session, making one static apnea attempt of at least 90 seconds and one dynamic apnea must be at least 25 meters/80 feet
  • complete Freediver Open Water Sessions One and Two, making one constant weight free dive to a minimum depth of at least 10 meters/30 feet
