Description

Objective:

The course objective is to demonstrate a working knowledge of each phase of the grant life cycle.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Explain the federal budget process by arranging the steps of the appropriation cycle
  • Identify considerations when acquiring, managing, and/or executing a grant
  • Name guiding documents in the pre-award phase of the grant lifecycle
  • Recognize the components of a complete application packet
  • Generate a budget detail worksheet and budget narrative
  • Determine applicable cost principles and administrative requirements
  • Identify the three main cost principles required for an expense to be considered proper
  • Recognize components of programmatic, financial and merit reviews
  • Identify the legal binding agreement between FEMA and the recipient
  • Identify pertinent legal authorities and regulations that apply to an award based on the information provided in the Notice of Award
