Description

Objective:

The course objective is to further professional understanding and skill development in the areas of exercise design, development, conduct (implementation), and improvement planning. The impact of this training is: A participant’s confidence in his or her ability to manage an exercise program and Apply their enhanced program knowledge and skills to effectively manage an exercise program.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Facilitate an Integrated Preparedness Planning Workshop (IPPW) and identify elements of Integrated Preparedness Plan (IPP) as it relates to Exercise Program Management
  • Validate course understanding by passing pre-course and post-course assessment
  • Identify and discuss key elements of Exercise Program Management
  • Demonstrate your understanding of the topics in Unit 2 by completing two activities in this unit
  • Explain risk assessments that promote strong exercise program management
  • Summarize how the Risk Assessments, Training and Exercise Needs Assessments and Improvement Plans lead to the development of a solid Integrated Preparedness Plan (IPP).Demonstrate your understanding of the topics in Unit 3 by completing three activities in this unit
  • Determine the steps to prepare for and conduct an IPPW
  • Interpret the correlation between local/state/region differences in needs and how to incorporate those differences into the IPPW agenda to produce a valuable IPP
  • Demonstrate your understanding of the topics in Unit 4 by completing 2 activities in this unit
  • Relate the importance of the IPP in relation to your exercise program
  • Assess the POETE model in relation to your exercise program
  • Demonstrate your knowledge of the topics in Unit 5 by completing 1 activity in this unit
  • Contrast the difference between project management and program management, as it relates to your exercise program
  • Determine and discuss tools and resources to support your exercise program
  • Demonstrate your knowledge of topics in Unit 6 by completing 2 activities in this unit
  • Explain Exercise Program Management and create ‘Take Home’ documents through the activities for your jurisdiction/organization
