Description

Objective:

The course objective is to enhance students’ speaking and writing skills at ILR level 2+ improving to level 3 and above. While maintain their proficiency level to ILR level 3 of their Listening and Reading skill, students will improve their speaking ability by conduct a seminar/forum and discuss/debate opinions and improve their writing ability by preparing a research homework, presentation and final project.

  • analyze information by identifying motives or causes of historical incidents
  • make inferences and find evidence to support generalizations
  • analyze sociolinguistic and cultural references
  • debate and defend individual points of view logically and persuasively providing justification
  • produce Korean summary of level 3 or higher authentic Korean history textbook, Korean history discourse, research papers, lectures, video clips, and internet articles
  • produce Korean and English translations of level 3 or higher authentic Korean history textbook, Korean history discourse, research papers, lectures, video clips, and internet articles
  • produce Korean research paper on eight different thematic units
  • produce Korean Oral presentations in a professional and well-educated manner at level 3 and higher of Korean
