Description

Objective:

In the 500 series, the fourth year of the program, the apprentice continues mastering the outside lineman occupation. Advanced level skills are highlighted as well as a significant field work. The apprentice is working on the job full time during this series as well as taking course work available electronically.

  • interpret transformer nameplate
  • connect transformer(wye-wye)
  • connect transformer (open wye-delta)
  • connect transformer (closed wye-delta)
  • interpret one line diagram
  • prepare S&C switching equipment
  • use capacitance meter
  • check rotation 3 phase service
  • install/inspect CT's on secondary
  • change transformer tap setting
