Description

Program Description:

Jackson EMC has Five offices servicing 12 counties in Northeast Georgia. Our apprentices safely build, maintain and repair the power grid. Currently 54 employees in the program. This apprenticeship program is a 7 year program with 8 levels. The program is reviewed annually to ensure it meets industry standards and current safety protocols.

Our apprenticeship program includes both on the job training with a minimum of 10,000 hours upon completion of the program as well as classroom instruction that is taught through face to face instruction as well as online materials.

Program Objective:

In the 200 series, the second six months of the program, the apprentice continues mastering the outside lineman occupation. Entry level skills are highlighted as well as an introduction to field work. The apprentice is working on the job full time during this series as well as taking course work available electronically.
