Description

Objective:

The course objective is to provide learners with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to hire and retain the right people to run their facility/program successfully. This course explores the non-appropriated funds (NAF) personnel management processes (hiring, selecting, onboarding, performance management, and employee rights) focusing on how Family and MWR Program Managers Hire and retain the best people and implement practices to maximize efficiency and productivity in their program.

Learning Outcomes:

Complete the interview process using position descriptions and assessment questions
Construct an onboarding model for a facility/program
Conduct an employee performance evaluation for a scenario using One Minute Manager
Utilize information on diversity and generations in the workforce to meet the needs of potential and current team members
Identify job duties and highly qualifying criteria needed to obtain a highly qualified pool of applicants
Modify matrices to evaluate resumes in order to rank candidates and complete reference checks
Develop performance standards for a new employee
Recommend appropriate penalties for common disciplinary infractions
Respond appropriately in given situations using processes that outline employee right
