Description

Objective:

To provide the student with a solid foundation in PC hardware and operating system knowledge as well as the hands-on training necessary to succeed in the A+ Certification program.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Installation procedures for these operating systems
  • Computer hardware, including installing, configuring, upgrading, troubleshooting, and repairing hardware
  • Successful installation, configuration, upgrading, troubleshooting, and repairing hardware components
  • Basic networking concepts, printer troubleshooting, safety, and preventative maintenance
  • Understand the fundamentals of MS-DOS 6.22, Windows 3.x, and Windows 95 operating systems -- including concepts and procedures for creating, viewing, and managing files and directories
  • Procedures for changing file attributes and the ramifications of those changes
  • Successful configuration, upgrading, and troubleshooting of these operating systems
