Description

Objective:

To provide the student with an understanding in basic editorial skills essential to the publication process, particularly use of editing and proofreading marks, word usage, style, consistency and key points of grammar and be introduced to the publication process, table basics, and author queries.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Define and differentiate among proofreading, copyediting, substantive editing, and other editorial jobs and roles
  • Type quickly with accuracy, and eliminate draft errors in writing
  • Apply and use editing and proofreading symbols
