Description

Objective:

This course applies the conceptual framework of Human Anatomy and Physiology and provides a comprehensive overview of the integrative mechanisms that contribute to the function of the human body. The course places emphasis on organization and overview of the human body, chemical reactions, maintenance of the body, integration, regulatory mechanisms and the dynamics of support and motion.

Learning Outcomes:

Explain the skeletal system, the supporting tissue, tissue physiology, and muscle tissue
Explain the endocrine system, nervous system, histological and functional classification of general and special sensory receptors, and structure and function of each special sense organ
Explain the respiratory, circulatory, digestive, and urinary systems and the mechanism of metabolism
Explain the fundamental concepts of anatomy and physiology, and the organizational scheme and standard terminology of the body
Explain the major chemical reactions, chemical constituents of the body, and the equilibrium state
Explain the acid-base balance and fluid compartments
Explain the function of the human reproductive system and its principal components and describe prenatal development and process of labor and delivery
