Description

Objective:

The course objective is to provide a foundation for using Flight Standards automated tools to perform oversight job tasks more effectively.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Identify the systems and programs available for use as automation tools
  • Determine which automation tools and functions to use for performing specific job tasks
  • Access the applicable instructions in the Automation Tools Resource Center for retrieving and entering data
  • Input stakeholder feedback and action requests using Quality Management System Information Technology Support (QMITS)
  • Select and retrieve the correct eVID standard reports for specific information
  • Select and use the appropriate queries to search for specific information from the NPTRS and NVIS databases
  • Retrieve detailed airman information from the Multi-System Access Tool Airman (MSAT-A) database
  • Identify the automation tool used by the FAA for certification tracking
  • Track oversight activities using Analysis for FSAS/TAP and Logbook.
  • Identify the purpose of the Flight Standards automation tools
  • Log on to the FAA domain and access eFSAS, FAAMIS, Analysis for FSAS/TAP and Logbook, QMITS, and SPAS
  • Update, validate, and save an eVID file (e.g., 14 CFR parts 91, 125, 129, 133, and 137) and the associated environmental file
  • Enter FAA Form 8000-36, PTRS Data Sheet, data into the eFSAS PTRS database
  • Use the Trigger function to create related records
  • Use Record Search to find specific PTRS records
  • Use the Copy function to duplicate records
  • Recognize the importance of data quality in PTRS
  • Analyze information in PTRS records
  • Retrieve detailed aircraft information from the Multi-System Access Tool Aircraft (MSAT-B) database
  • Research accident and incident information in the Accident/Incident Database System (AIDS)
  • Research violation information using Enforcement Information System Query and Browse (EISqb)
  • Describe the components of the Flight Standards Information Management System (FSIMS)
  • Search for work-related documents
  • Use MyFSIMS to configure your personalized library
  • Use the Aviation Safety eForms Service (eForms) to locate and access electronic forms
  • Access and run one-touch reports using Analysis for FSAS/TAP and Logbook
