Description

Objective:

The course objective is to train personnel in the regulations, policies, procedures, and documentation required to satisfy the agency's responsibilities regarding air taxi operations.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Describe and identify air carrier operations regulatory guidance
  • Select the appropriate type of certificate, describe the appropriate kind of operation, and identify the appropriate operating rule that will apply to operators based on their proposed operations
  • Provide accurate and timely assistance to an applicant in the development of a manual, and be able to determine the manual's acceptability and compliance with 14 CFR Part 135
  • Describe Single Pilot, Single Pilot-In-Command, and Basic 14 CFR Part 135 Operator, and the differences in the certification process for each
  • Identify and describe elements of Part 135 Pilot and Flight Crewmember Testing/Checking
  • Describe and identify elements of operation specifications
  • Determine the applicable 14 CFR Part 135 aircraft performance requirements, and evaluate an operator and flight crew in their aircraft performance data selection, execution
  • Define the purpose of Proving and Validation Tests, and explain applicable requirements and FAA Procedures
  • Describe oceanic operations, MNPS, RVSM, RNP, and factors involved in authorizing foreign/oceanic operations for 14 CFR Part 135 operators
  • Understand the objectives, characteristics and authority for inspections of 14 CFR Part 135 operators
  • Describe and identify elements of part 135 operations
  • Create a 14 CFR Part 135 certificate holder
  • Explain the process for obtaining DOT economic authority and requirements for continued compliance
  • Provide assistance to an applicant in the development of a Compliance Statement and determine the acceptability of an applicant's Compliance Statement
  • Identify and describe the phases of the certification process
