Objective:

The course objective is to provide knowledge of psychological theory, principles and terminology.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Identify psychological theory, principles and terminology
  • Demonstrate knowledge of the thirteen areas: history of psychology, biological basis of behavior, sensation and perception, states of consciousness, learning, cognition, motivation, personality, abnormal and developmental psychology, treatment and social psychology, as well as statistics, test and measurements
  • Show ability to comprehend, evaluate and analyze problem situations
  • Apply knowledge from the thirteen areas covered to new situations
  • Understand basic facts, concepts and generally accepted principles
