Objective:

To present a comprehensive overview of the U. S. nuclear weapons program.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Define the scope of the national nuclear weapons program
  • Identify basic nuclear physics and materials
  • List key elements of nuclear surety
  • Identify future development, testing, command and control, and weapons effects from stockpiled nuclear weapons
  • Name international agreements concerning nuclear weapons
  • Discuss current nuclear weapons issues and understand the U.S. Nuclear Weapons Program and issues and challenges facing it as presented in the course
