Description

Objective:

To provide a comprehensive knowledge of the planning, preparation, on-sight management, and operational control of federal and state assets to effectively respond to nuclear weapons accidents.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Understand the Federal plans, DOD directives, policies, and guidance that affect DOD's role in a nuclear weapons accident response
  • Understand the command structure throughout the phases of the accident
  • Determine the roles and responsibilities of government agencies in the render safe and transport of the weapon/s involved and the remediation of the accident site
  • Understand procedures for requesting DOD, federal and state response assets for application in a nuclear weapons accident response
