Description

Objective:

The course objective is to instruct with focuses on WMD threat awareness, interagency policy, national response architecture, nuclear science, radiation detector theory, and crisis communications. This course meets interagency training standards for national crisis response.

Learning Outcomes:

  • understand the fundamentals of radiation
  • conduct site searches and IPC interrogations
  • operate radiation detection equipment to locate and identify NMOC / RMOC
  • apply the principles of ALARA while conducting EOD response operations
  • apply OEGs to EOD response operations
  • analyze spectrum, background, near and far doses
  • collect and record all site data and photographs;
  • submit all required data to DOE Triage

  • Fundamentals of radiation radiological units of measurement radiological detector theory and applications OEGs and ALARA site search and interrogation techniques spectrum analysis of NMOC / RMOC submitting Triage to the DOE
