Description

Objective:

The course objective is to provide entry-level specialty training for video documentation and broadcast communicators to support public affairs, combat camera, and broadcast journalism missions throughout the Armed Forces.

  • Create a radio newscast
  • Write and produce a radio spot
  • Create and host a local radio show
  • Create lower third graphics using title/text tool
  • Write, shoot, narrate, and edit news elements
  • Produce a news feature using storytelling

  • Create a television spot
  • Prepare, shoot, caption and edit video documentation
  • Perform distribution requirements (e.g. DVIDS, DIMOC)
  • Write a news story (global and local)
  • Write spot announcements
  • Demonstrate mechanics of broadcast announcing (delivery)
  • Create a radio news story with natural sound and soundbites
  • Demonstrate use of camera functions
  • Demonstrate basic editing fundamentals
